Ship artifacts, celebrity-related memorabilia and trips are among the auction items available to the public
A Sea Shepherd telegraph involved in Soviet whaling interventions, a Sea Shepherd surfboard, lunch with actor/activist Martin Sheen, a vegan getaway to Palm Springs, and a guitar signed by The Red Hot Chili Peppers are just some of the items currently up for auction in conjunction with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s upcoming 40th Anniversary gala.
The marine conservation group’s Gala for the Oceans, will be held on June 10th, 2017, a the Montage Beverly Hills in California.
The auction site, currently live at bidpal.net/sscs40, is open to the public for bidding and includes such mementos as a framed Sea Shepherd comic book-style print, a Sea Shepherd snowsuit, a Sea Shepherd honorary medal and a Sea Shepherd map of the world complete with ship locations and campaign logos.
The Gala for The Oceans online auction site is split into six categories: Activities, Entertainment, Fashion, Travel and Wellness. There are over 40 items to bid on, such as founder Captain Paul Watson’s personal orange Mustang suit with campaign patches, a Sea Shepherd skateboard, a wine country getaway and model ships from the organization’s fleet including M/Y Steve Irwin, M/V Brigitte Bardot, M/Y Bob Barker.
Interested bidders must register on the site first. Bidding closes June 10th, 2017, the day of the gala.
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society was founded by Captain Paul Watson – best known for the hit Animal Planet TV series Whale Wars – in 1977 to defend, conserve and protect our oceans and endangered marine life. It has grown in to a worldwide movement comprised of nine ships who work with various governments to combat poachers and other illegal activities on the high seas.
